Five on Friday!

Happy Friday! This is my very first Five on Friday! I am so excited to link up with Christina, Darci, April and Natasha

Since I am new to the blogging world and Five on Friday, I thought I'd start by introducing myself. My name is Mary (which I'm sure you probably assumed bc of my title) and I was born and raised in Michigan. I recently moved to Southwest Georgia to a town called Thomasville. I made my big move to the South because Gavin, aka the love of my life lives here and just finished up school. So far I am loving it in the South; mostly because Gavin is here and we don't have to do long distance anymore but I will always be a Midwest girl at heart. Gavin is from England so living in the South is an adventure for him too! I really love my job as a nanny and enjoy crafting and selling crafts on Etsy and amazon as a hobby. I'm hoping to meet and become friends with lots of other bloggers :)

I follow many motivational twitter accounts; I have found that reading these different quotes really raise my spirits or give me that extra push I need sometimes.  The accounts I follow are 'Motivation for life' @MotivatedLiving and 'Fitness motivation' @fitspirational. These are my favorites of the week:
"Life is short, time is fast. No replays, no rewinds. So just enjoy every moment you have and make the best out of it."

"I'm strong because I know my weaknesses. I'm wise because I've been foolish.  I laugh because I've known sadness."

"No matter how slow you go, you are still lapping everybody on the couch."

"You can't just skip ahead to where you think your life should be"

"Happy moments: Praise God. Sad moments: Seek God. Painful moments: Trust God. Every moment: Thank God."

"Never allow yourself to be defined by someone else's opinion."

Friday night, Pizza night! Pizza Lover Right Here! I love food and if I'm being honest I probably spend half my day dreaming about food. My 'food to make' board on Pintetest by far as the most pins! One of things I miss most about Michigan (besides my family and friends of course) is pizza!! Dexter, the little town I grew up in seriously had the best pizza ever from Classic, to Cottage Inn, to Mr. Pizza, to Pizza house, to even Jets. Since moving to Thomasville I have found myself craving pizza more than ever. You always seem to crave what you can't have. I've been settling for Pizza Hut for the last six months which has tasted relatively good but leaves me feeling gross after. This all changed when  Gavin and I stumbled upon a small brick stone pizzeria while on a double date last week!! I was in pizza heaven, the dough was nice and thin and the crust was just the way I like it and they even allow you to put feta on as a topping which is my favorite! Needless to say I have been craving it since the moment we left. I however am not the only one! So it looks like we are going on another double date tonight to indulge is some delicious pizza and I honestly can't wait!!

Super Bowl Sunday! I have been scouring Pintetest looking for recipes and cute football themed dishes and I came across four that I am making for sure. I am a football fan and don't mind watching but let's be honest I am way more excited for the food! It's my biggest cheat day of the year when it comes to eating healthy. Below are the pictures of the plates I will be making. I'm hoping to post pictures of along the way Sunday! If you would like the recipes they can all be found on my Pinterest under the board 'food to make'. They all seem super easy! Pinterest Mary4404

The weekend means lots of TV time and catching up on my shows!!  Gavin has had more control of the TV lately, using his goto argument that the NFL season is almost over or it's a big game (NBA). I normally catch up on my shows while on the elliptical or treadmill but ABC and ABC Family have decided to make you sign into your TV provider every time you want to watch an episode and the new system doesn't always work well.  Thank goodness for project free tv! I am finally all caught up on Revenge so its time to catch up with Grey's Anatomy, Nashville, NCIS and Pretty Little Liars!!
I am also excited to catch the Lifetime special that's on this Saturday evening at 8/7c.  The Gabby Douglas Story!  I am a huge gymnastics fan, as I was a competitive gymnast for 12 years growing up.  For those of you that don't know Gabby Douglas was on the 2012 USA Olympic Gold Medal Team and she was the All Around Gold Medalist!  Ahh watching gymnastics makes my heart happy!

Happy Friday!
XOXO Mary

An unexpected snow day

When I moved from Michigan to Southwest Georgia this past August, never in a million years did I think I would get a snow day! There isn't actually any snow but you won't hear any complaints from me. Nice little break in the middle of the week.

I've surprisingly been quite productive with my day off. An extra three hours of sleep and not waking up to an alarm can make a world of difference. I was able to get in a much longer and harder workout than usual and had a nice lunch date with Gavin and his friends. They spent most of the time watching English Football (soccer) and talking about guy things but it was nice to spend extra time with him. Not to mention, English boys when together are quite hilarious.  So it was an entertaining lunch.

The remainder of the day will be dedicated to a deep clean of our apartment, crafting my little heart out and some extra snuggling with my favorite guy. I'm crossing my fingers for a marathon of Big Bang Theory to be on so I have an excuse to cuddle up on the couch and not move.  I don't know what it is but that show cracks me up!!

I'm hoping to finish a few wedding countdown signs for our BrideToBeBaskets and post them on Etsy! Feeling a little anxious to see if people like them.

Hope everyone else is enjoying their hump day. Stay warm out there! Especially my family and friends back in Michigan, it's a hundred times colder up there! I am missing the snow a little bit down here!

Juicing my way through the week

Never thought I would be a juicer!

A friend of mine recently purchased a nutribullet and it is my new favorite kitchen appliance. You can make all kinds of smoothies and shakes. Whether you want to do a cleanse, add some more fruits and vegetables to your day or need a fast meal on the run, it takes roughly 2 minutes to make one! I just can't get enough. I think I'm going to have to drive on over to Walmart and get one! Once I make Gavin one I'm sure he'll approve of my purchase :)

Today's breakfast and lunch recipes! Don't let the color or wide variety of ingredients fool you... Mixed together they are delicious!
Handful of spinach leaves
Half a banana
1/2 a cup of plain Greek yogurt (tons of protein, 22g per cup!)
A handful of frozen pineapple, mango and papaya
A small pinch of GOJI Berries
A little squeeze of Organic Blue Agave
Lastly fill the cup halfway with water

A bunch of kale
A bunch of spinach
A small pinch of GOJI Berries
1/2 cup of plain Greek yogurt
1/2 banana
5 strawberries
3 pieces of frozen pineapple
4 slices of frozen peaches
Lastly fill the cup halfway with water

Along with a avocado, tomato and feta salad stopped with balsamic vinegar and a little sea salt and pepper
Also try adding a little Cayanne Red Pepper to your salads, it adds a nice little spice! I love it!
I've been attempting to eat healthier during breakfast and lunch so I can enjoy a yummier and a little less healthy dinner with Gavin!

Mason Jars... Not your typical jar

recently discovered my love for mason jars.  They are a jar full of endless possibilities.  Originally used for canning they have now become a popular crafting material.  Although I believe my first personal use of a mason jar was for a lightening bug jar when I was little! It's incredible how happy those jars make kids.

I am currently working on turning mason jars into wedding fund jars for my Brides To Be Baskets. Along the way I discovered so many great ideas out there; many in which you can find on Pinterest.

With Valentines Day right around the corner try one of these cute gifts

Use mason jars to organize your bathroom or as a cute soap dispenser.

Want to organize your kitchen...

You can use them for food prep or as a dessert dish

Get organized in your arts and crafts room

Decorate your house...

Use them to make cute drinking glasses

They also work great for a homemade present

I don't know about you but I can't wait to try out some of these ideas!

First time blogger alert!

If the title didn't give it away, this is my first blog! I am excited to enter the world of blogging; hopefully I catch on quickly.  I hope to be able to share ideas that I have for crafts, weddings, events and presents.  I love crafting and find it to be a great stress relieving activity, unfortunately once I get started I have a hard time turning my brain off from new thinking of new ideas.

Here and there I may throw in a funny story about Gavin and our crazy life.  Living with a boy and running after four children during the say equals a pretty entertaining life.

I look forward to meeting more bloggers and welcome any advice you have :)
